Gerard joins the FARM-Up | Coimín Beo project as Project Coordinator, bringing nearly 15 years of experience in the agri-environment sector across Ireland and Scotland.
A Mayo native with a farming background, Gerard has worked on a range of agri-environment initiatives, including the ACRES scheme with ACRES West Connacht and the Pearl Mussel Project in Mayo, Galway and Donegal. His experience includes commonage management, peatland habitat assessment, restoration planning, stakeholder engagement and project coordination.
Gerard is passionate about supporting collaborative, farmer-led approaches to restoring upland habitats and is excited to work with farmers and project partners throughout the lifetime of the project.
Peadar holds a BSc Hons Degree in Sustainable Agriculture obtained from Dundalk Institute of Technology and Ballyhaise Agricultural college. Peadar has an upland and lowland sheep flock in Donegal. He is keen to bring a farmer’s perspective to the role.
Patricia Joyce FCA is the Chief Financial Officer at South West Mayo Development Company CLG, where she plays a central role in financial strategy, governance, and oversight across a wide portfolio of communityfocused programmes. As CFO, she contributes to major regional development initiatives, including leading financial planning and supporting key funding applications that drive social, economic, and rural regeneration throughout the region. She has a personal interest in hill farming in the west of Ireland.
